Exercise #23
1. What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? I really like Image Chef, Flickr, del.icio.us.
2. How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
I'm not afraid to try new things on the computer now.
3. Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
Yes, that I was able to do this without giving up.
4. What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? And last but not least…
If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you choose to participate?
I'm not sure, but I didn't enjoy the technorati or rollo. Everything else was fun and I enjoyed learning. And yes if you have another program I would like to do this again.

Exercise 22
Net Library, I really enjoy listening to the books, I'm not sure that I would like to sit and stare at the computer screen to read a book on line. Being able to down load a book on my ipod and listen any where is great.
Exercise #14

This is my watch list, I didn't really like this exercise, I guess that is why I waited so long to do this one.

Exercise #19
I went into Ma.gnolia.com and then recipes. This is a social bookmarking site, your always able to access no matter which computer you are on. If I had a favorite recipe I could keep here and that way others would be able to share. As for any applications to use in a library. It will take more time to use this before I can say for sure.
Exercise #16
1. For this discovery exercise, you are asked to take a look at some library wikis and blog about your finding. I've really not used wiki before, interesting that anyone is able to change the information on these sites.
Well I enjoyed reading Library success http://www.libsuccess.org I'm in the middle of my summer program and this site has a link for programs that I found very useful.
2. Create a blog post about your findings. What did you find interesting? What types of applications within libraries might work well with a wiki? http://www.libsuccess.org , these sites encourage you to input information in the areas that you have expertise in. If your a small library and not a lot of resources this would help.

Exercise #15
I've skipped exercise 14 for now. I read Away from the icebergs and enjoyed it. I have seen a drop in circulation here at my Library and an increase in computer usage. So I know that people are becoming more computer smart and will be using these applications that we have been doing. When we start digital collections, books, blogs, podcasts. I just hope I'm ready. this exercise has been a wake up call. I didn't realize everything we have gone over would be such a useful tool for the library and it's patrons.

Exercise #13
Del.icio.us
I really enjoyed playing around with this site. Here is the link to my del.icio.us
http://del.icio.us/DebiSu1958. I think this would be a great reference tool for those often asked questions.

Lesson #12
I created an account and added sites I would like to visit. But I tried to use the free picture site but I didn't really like that one, maybe because I didn't know what I'm doing. Rollyo: Create a Searchbox
LibraryThing | Catalog your books online
I just love this site, I can now add the books that I've read and it will keep the list for me. I have been trying to remember the books I've already read to add to this list. LibraryThing Catalog your books online
Exercise #9
I think Liszen will help me when the kids ask for science experiments, I really like this one. I also like Topix.net. I will try the other sites later.

Exercise #8
I'm hoping this will come in handy. And I thought this was the most difficult one so far. Here is a link to one of my news feeds Boing Boing: Tree with face. With these news information sites I hope someone comes in today and ask for a news article that I will be able to pull up from my blogline.

Exercise #6
I just returned from vacation, we went to the Tybee Island Lighthouse, and also saw Cockspur lighthouse of course you can't get to this one unless you swim or have a boat. On the way home we stopped at St. Simons to view the lighthouse, Of course it would be on a day that 7 bus loads of school children were also viewing it.
